Got the remastered Berserk since it was on sale at Right Stuf. Still not sure if its being remastered is worth the packaging fail...
Box of War packaging here
Remastered complete collection packaging here
And, comparison video here
Might end up double-dipping... ><; And maybe selling the remastered versiion if it's not worth it.

I don't know why you would sell the version with the superior video quality for some boxes. I mean, isn't the real value the show itself rather than some junk to go on the shelf?

I know... But the video quality doesn't look that much different to me.

You know, I just realized the OP might be a bad example of the differences, since the OP and ED are usually of higher animation quality than the main show...
Also, looking at your comment again I realized you *might* be saying that if I want the "junk to go on the shelf" I should still keep the remastered version. If that is what you're saying... I guess selling the remastered version would make me feel better about double-dipping, again if the video quality doesn't differ enough for me to notice it.

The most dramatic differences are from the end of the series, but Eric reviewed the remastered edition for Advanced Media Network and did some comparisons. You can find them here, here and here. Having ripped the previous versions of the DVDs, seeing some of the scenes from near the end of the show and having them be appropriately red rather than kind of faded-pink, I can tell you that the difference is dramatic, almost as much as the remastered Utena DVDs that recently came out in Japan.
