The very concept of "searching for cheap labor" disgusts me. Cheap materials, cheap processing methods, etc. - that's just fine, assuming it's not horrible for the environment. Even expecting employees to meet a reasonable degree of efficiency is okay. But the idea of wanting cheap labor is essentially relegating human wellbeing to the level of an inanimate object that one can exploit without guilt.
It really is the modern equivalent of slavery. Slave masters provided food and shelter but no money, corporations provide money just enough to buy food and shelter.

When you try to find the cheapest product, are you doing the same thing? You're relegating a person's livelihood, the fruits of their labor, to a commodity.

While you do make a good point, I still stand by what I say. Also, I'd definitely be willing to pay more if I know the extra money is going towards paying laborers, etc., a real living wage. Fair trade foods, etc.

I don't disagree with you, necessarily. I'm just trying to extend it a little further.
