more headache/insurance discussion
Jun. 1st, 2009 08:08 pmI'm going on a week-long caffeine abstinence, since I'm vaguely wondering if that's what's causing my headaches. (As in the caffeine gives me headaches, not the lack thereof.) No tea, no chocolate, no Pepsi. Boo.
I honestly think it's more likely that it's related to my neck issues (which has a chicken and egg relationship with the way I've been "stretching" it for 10+ years), but when I was looking up causes of frequent headaches on Google I also came across cavities as a potential cause, which seems to have an appropriate timeline with the progression of my cavities.
Despite my finally realizing that there are health insurance options for those who aren't FT students or workers, since I moved to IL the MN Care application has become useless. I've done some very basic research on personal health insurance available in Champaign, but it's probably pointless to pursue further until I know more about the benefits I'd get at Best Buy (I remember hearing once that PT workers get some sort of insurance) and when it would start, as well as getting the information I need to apply for personal insurance.
Didn't do any Shakespeare today, but spent a significant amount of time studying kanji.
Unrelated, it's more or less official that I'll be coming back to the Twin Cities next weekend to move the rest of my stuff, but unfortunately I won't really have the time to get together with anyone. However, if there's something in particular you need from me when I come back, let me know and I'll try to comply.
[EDIT: I discussed health care options with Dad on the phone (whether I should go for low monthly payments or low deductibles), and he basically said private health insurance isn't viable, and I need to look into sliding scale clinics in the area, which is what I'm doing now.]
[EDIT 2: It occurs to me that without the great health insurance I had the first 18 years of my life, my lack of it in 2.5 of the last 5 wouldn't be nearly as frustrating. Then again, without that great health insurance, I would have had a lot more difficulties than the average non-insured child.]
