Mrf. Life's getting confusing again, and I don't like it. I also don't like needing to make choices I don't want to make.
Long story short, Dad's talking about me trying to move out again, which I don't have anything against in general, but I don't at all like that it's the opposite of moving towards going back to school. (Well, no, let me not be overdramatic and dismiss the possibility of taking one class at a time or so at MCTC or other schools online.)
I'm also frustrated by the lack of leads for finding a roommate. I know one situation that was likely for a period seems to have fallen through, at least for the immediately foreseeable future. I have another friend who thought he'd need to move out of his current place sometime in the next year, so I called him up and asked what he seriously thought about us trying to find an apartment together, and although he said he'd be interested, it's not so clear anymore if he will need to move out, and in any case he has some financial loose ends to tie up.
Of course, I would need to save up for the deposit and at least a two month buffer, and finding a second job would be good too, but without a roommate I know it's pointless.
Oh, also, I got a 6 manga, one fat-ass Tezuka manga, and 3 books on Japanese history at the library today. It was actually kind of sweet, I had to replace my library card, and there was a $1 fee, but they only accepted cash and check (reasonably enough), and I had managed to forget my checkbook at home, but the lady behind me overheard my conversation with the librarian and gave me the dollar. Yay, nice people. ^_^
Finally, talking with [livejournal.com profile] idkrash today I was reminded of an excellent New Year's Resolution: stop badmouthing people. Because seriously, I do it too much.

[EDIT: Oh, I forgot, some of my coworkers, and maybe people here as well, recommended me getting a mini-fridge to deal with some of the grocery storage space problems I mentioned a while ago. Well, I ended up taking home a mini-fridge from [livejournal.com profile] idkrash today which I was going to pay him $45 for, but when my dad wondered what the noise was (of me taking it upstairs) and I told him, he said a) I shouldn't be buying a mini-fridge, b) we already have one in the basement, and c) (the most important) he doesn't want me to have more stuff plugged in upstairs. so so much for that. ^_^;]

[EDIT 2: I downgraded to the 1 at-a-time Netflix plan. That's definitely plenty for me, especially since it's what I've essentially been going with with the Henry V DVD sitting around my room since I subscribed 3 weeks ago.]
