definite lack of karaoke
Oct. 18th, 2008 04:40 pmWeird/annoying thing about the Ouran DVDs:
You know how basically all anime DVDs these days have translation subtitles for the OP and ED of odd episodes, and karaoke subtitles for even episodes? This is true for FUNimation's release of Jyu-Oh-Sei, too, which has the same packaging/price point as the Ouran DVDs. But the Ouran DVDs, for whatever reason, don't have karaoke subtitles - all episodes just have the translations. Which sucks especially bad because I don't have the lyrics to Shissou memorized, so I can only sing along so well. :( The thing that bugs me, though, is that I have to wonder if the reason they don't provide the karaoke subs is to somehow promote the dub songs, but I don't really see the point of promoting them. Anyways, stupid FUNi. That said, I'm really happy with the release. Other than the very non-collector's packaging (but at least it's not the dreaded digipak) which I believe I discussed when I got Jyu-Oh-Sei, the bloopers were very fun to watch, and around half the episodes have commentary from the American V.A.s.
Oh man, Vinny, I totally forgot to give you this song last time I saw you... I guess I'll just have to throw it on my USB key until you get your laptop back.
Okie doke, I've been home for 40 minutes now - I think it's time to go clean the kitchen.
