BIG, WEIRD NEWS

Okay, guys, for some of you this will be really important news, so PAY ATTENTION:
My parents have decided to get rid of our landline, so my current phone number will NO LONGER WORK. Instead we'll be using Skype, and our in-number is going to be (612)246-4564. I still don't know if we'll have it set up so we can answer the phone without a computer on, but at the very least I know we'll have voice mail. Or, if you have Skype the username is james.riemermann. (Or, if for some reason you want to contact me privately over Skype at tsukikage85, but I rarely log in. That's what gmail's for.)
I won't talk about this much longer, since I have to catch the bus soon, but I'm finding this all very weird. Kind of like suddenly becoming nationless, and instead living on an ocean houseboat, or something.

[EDIT: No, we won't have Skype phones, so you won't be able to reach me at night.]

Yeah, everyone but me has them. I'm a little worried about the emergency services not being able to track me when I call 911 bit.

Oh, it makes a bit more sense then. I don't have a landline at all (and haven't used on on a regular basis in about two and a half years or so), but that's because I use a cell phone as my primary mode of contact.

We dropped our landline for cells in September, but it's also notable that we did it in part because the land lines in this area are all kinds of fucked up and unreliable.
