[EDIYay! I finished my translation of みこと by ジン, but because I had some serious trouble with how to translate a few parts I've submitted the translation along with the original kanji lyrics to
japanese for critiquing before posting it here or elsewhere. I'm glad to know I mostly understood it before pulling out the denshi jisho. ^_^
Finished Wolf's Rain today. I'd definitely like to watch that series again. Strangely enough, I didn't cry that much through the final episodes... Only really got close as they were grieving Toboe's death. I wonder why that is. I don't know what I think of the end, though... Like, maybe it's because I spent too much of the series only half-watching it while I folded clothes or because I watched it in rather spaced-out chunks, but the ending didn't really move me much. It just seemed sort of... "Okay, the world freezes over, the flowers bloom, look everyone's back alive." Maybe it just didn't feel like the end of the world? I did wonder where Tsume was, because I didn't see him in that last bit in our world.
Anyways, I should go to bed now.
[EDIT: Eeep! The full HEART STATION album is already up on jpopsuki... *wants my CD to hurry up and be shipped and get here*]
[EDIT 2: Ugh, テイク 5 (a song that is supposedly about death and ends quite abruptly) is horribly placed: right before ぼくはくま. And without any real break, either. So strange...]
[EDIT 3: The interviewer mentions that “death” seems to play a role in many of the tracks off of “HEART STATION.” Utada agrees, with many tracks dealing with closure and endings. “Stay Gold” has a ghostly sound, she says, with vocals that seem very whispered. “Take 5″ also deals directly with death. Utada mentions that she respects the idea of death as something not to be feared but as a place that seems restful. The idea of death has always appealed to her.

[EDIT 4: あぁ!'s "FIRST KISS" is a really good song. Until I watched the PV and realized one of the singers of the threesome was nine years old. What the hell is a nine-year-old doing singing that song?
The lyrics?:
Why won't you be my lover?
Then why did you kiss me that night?
I already liked someone else
But my heart got stolen
Driving together with close friends
We were better off in those lively times
It all changed with that kiss
I can't look at you in the eye
I can't even laugh when we talk of stupid things
You talk to me naturally
I'm scared of you
Hey, take me back to that night
Take me back to before that kiss
Why can't just the two of us meet?
Then why do you call me so often?
Besides, you keep telling everyone
that this isn't your first...
I was happy to have made a friend in the city
But that was a failed sham
Everything changed with that kiss
Your smile is so bright
I like you too much even when we're with everyone
I grow lonelier and lonelier
I'm scared of myself
Hey, support me inside your heart
Your smile is so bright
I like you too much even when we're with everyone
I grow lonelier and lonelier
I'm scared of myself
Hey, support me inside your heart
Kiss me again like that night
Actually, though... That song would make a really good Kodocha AMV.
Okay, it's not like it's all that sexual, but still... We're talking 3rd grade here.]
