Fucking ambiguous sentences. I mean, you're a linguist, Mr. Carnie - you should know better than this!
Well, I think I figured out how to parse this sentence properly:
"When there is an NP that contains (an anaphor and an NP marked with ‘s), that NP seems to function as a binding domain."
[EDIT: 1:07 AM, and I'm done with my syntax homework for Thursday. :) I hope to polish it up a bit before then, as I can't say I worded things wonderfully in all parts.
If any of you linguistic-y folk are feeling particularly generous, I have the homework assignment uploaded here.
"HW II scans" is the scans of the assignment sheet. HW II.doc, .docx, and .pdf are just different file formats of my answers. Finally, ignore the struck-through bracketed diagrams - I'll delete those before printing the final version.]
[EDIT 2: Oh, I forgot. Today I saw something really freaky: Tazawa-sensei without his glasses! Never thought the day would come. ^_^;]
