Whomped the physics, blew the pacing...
Feb. 13th, 2004 01:34 pmMore or less just came out of my physics quiz. Two problems and five multiple choice questions, 50 minutes. Did the multiple choice first, for obvious reasons. However... Just as I finished the first problem they called five minutes. Heh. All I managed to do for problem two was diagram the problem...
One of the guys from my discussion class (correctly) pointed out that these format sheets are really the hardest thing about the problems. I concede that they are a great help in solving really elaborate and confusing problems, but for easier problems, they take at least twice as long to solve. (I won't even talk about the "one pencil" rule in discussion, though it's looking like our TA's confused - I hope so!)
In the future, and especially if we have to keep using these format sheets, here's what I'm going to do:
* 5 minutes for the multiple choice questions
* 20 minutes for each problem
* 5 minutes looking over answers (or buffer time if needed)
Hey, at least we get to drop a quiz. Though it's kinda depressing, having to drop the first quiz. (Not to mention, if it's more beneficial they'll keep all four quizzes and make the final worth 10%.)
This class is really starting to make me nervous...
