tsukikage: (misc - my fandom killed my GPA)
I just signed up for Netflix, so if anyone wants to friend me, feel free to send me an invite.
The sad thing is, I already have 442 DVDs in my queue, not counting the 16 watch instantly items. Unfortunately I tried watching Solid State Society on watch instantly, but I think it's a touch too much for my computer to enjoy it properly, so I'm just going to watch the DVD.
So, I'm getting 2 DVDs at a time, and my first two items are Henry V (1944) and Love My Life (some live action movie about lesbians that I decided I didn't want to wait to watch). After that I have Emma: A Victorian Romance and House, M.D. in alternation.

[EDIT: You know what I would love? A Netflix-style system for iPod videos. Seriously, when I spend 10+ hours in commute a week, I burn through iPod videos like no-one's business.]

[EDIT 2: I still don't know if I should go with one or two at a time. Like, I would do one, because it's not like I don't have lots of other things I need to do in my life besides watch movies and TV shows, but at the same time I don't want to have a five day gap or whatever between sending in each DVD and receiving the new one...]

OMG YAY! I was just looking at Funimation's Ouran wesbite, and volume 2 will come with a 2009 mini calendar! I can't wait to see it. ^_^ Although the set isn't due to be out until January 6th, I have some hope that it'll arrive before the new year, since volume 1 arrived quite early. Squee!
And now I leave you with a great AMV that was posted in the production blog:

Ugh, shit... I just realized I totally forgot to call Alana on her birthday yesterday (Tuesday). And that's on top of having procrastinated too long on sending her some money to celebrate with as a present.
Seriously, I'm feeling like a shit sister right now. *headdesk*

So, I'm not surprised at all that Dad rated Gundam Wing with one star (although I am baffled that he watched it at all), but he really rated Millenium Actress as one star? Wow... Like, I can understand giving it only a three, but I have trouble seeing why someone would hate it. Anyways. :) I also saw that he gave the first season of Doctor Who five stars, which is cool. :)
Oh, now this is weird. Apparently he also watched Gilgamesh. Bikkuri.
Okay, now I'm starting to see some that are making me think these are my ratings, not his, as I know he didn't watch Kodocha and rate it as a five. But I know I didn't rate Millenium Actress or Gundam Wing that low, and I've never finished Gilgamesh, so those three, at least, aren't mine. It's also possible that I rented a disc a long time ago and he rated it.

There's something I've wanted for a long, long time now. A few days ago I was told that now I actually have a reasonable shot at it. But now my head is filled with self-doubt (some of it warranted, some not) and excuses, and I'm thinking of letting it slip through my fingers. Even if I grasp that small chance now, though, circumstances may make it impossible anyway, which might just be another excuse. In any case, I'm doing my best to avoid those circumstances.
So many dreams I've had in my life, and so many I either let slip away or didn't work hard enough for. I wonder if my past has just made me afraid of succeeding.

Shit.
I mean, not that this isn't a good idea, but it means the specifications of all my prep materials will be out-of-date. Plus, I'm kind of annoyed that old tests won't be made public anymore.
Damn, damn, damn.

Ugh, my Dennou Coil DVDs are fscked up. Once again, thank goodness for Veoh.
