three down, one to go
May. 16th, 2008 01:07 amWeeeeell, my grade for syntax came in, but I can't remember for the life of me what the required grade is within major classes.
Anyways, I got a C-, which, again sadly enough, I'm pretty happy about. And again, I know I could've done way, way, way better. Like by making it to the midterm that was 30% of my grade. In any case, I'm glad I didn't give up on the class.
But yeah, especially if a C- is enough to make it through the major, I'll be a very relieved girl. Although I haven't been able to find the answer on OneStop yet, the fact that an S is equivalent to a C- or better is a good sign.
TESL still hasn't come in yet, and I still haven't re-written said paper, and every day that neither of the two happen is another day I can't really enjoy summer.
Anyways, I was planning out my study schedule a bit for the next eight months. The first priority is Shakespeare. I think I'm gonna try to do one play a week over the next nine weeks, starting Monday. I just wish my mini-laptop still worked, since that was quite handy for working on the assignment while reading without having to re-type it before sending it to the teacher. Anyways, if I stick to that I'll be done July 20th, which'll give me a little over four months to prepare in earnest for the 2kyuu. Somehow I think I won't make it this year either. :-/
I'll be going out job hunting on Monday after updating my cheat sheet and resume this weekend, so if things go amazingly for me I hope to have a job within four weeks. Hopefully I'll also be able to get some shifts at catering, since I believe I'm (un-technically) allowed to work at UDS until Fall semester starts. I'll already be working 3-11 on May 29th (and at $10/hour, too!), but I submitted my new availability schedule today so maybe I'll occasionally get lucky and get added to the schedule. The other two things I'm thinking about are volunteering more often at MLC (if they want me) and finding a driving school for behind-the-wheel practice if I can find one I can afford. The first school I found, though, it was $240 for three two-hour lessons, and frankly besides being $40/hour, if that's gonna be my only driving practice before taking the test I'm gonna need more than six hours.
Anyways, my plans for tomorrow:
- clean room
- do laundry (if I have enough to do)
- make dental appt.
- make doctor's appt. for U.T. check-up?
- call Katie about dress fitting
- make birthday card for Grandpa (his 80th birthday party is on Sunday :()
- go to the U again to sell back my textbooks* since I got there too late today
With the cleaning that should take most of the day, but if I have extra time I'm not sure whether I'll spend it finishing the first Twelve Kingdom's novel or starting to re-read A Midsummer Night's Dream.
* You know, normally I don't sell back my textbooks, but those damn bio textbooks are so crappily built that I just want them off my shelves.
Oh yes, my fortune cookie from the Village Wok today:

starting tomorrow.
eurohybrid62 and I thought that was hilariously appropriate.
Oh, and Alex, don't forget to check out Rejected.
[EDIT: Hee, I just realized I'm a junior now! I mean, it doesn't mean much, especially since I'm not at all sure I'll graduate in 60 credits, but still. Junior!]
