Small hiatus hiatus to mention the following:
Oh, one other thing, I have been awarded a Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Award so I will be doing my research in Japan next academic year. I will miss teaching you tea ceremony next year!!
Suck... Well, no, that's great news for her, but still. A whole year of no tea ceremony? :-/ Then again, chances were that I wouldn't have been able to take it in the fall anyway, so at least this way I won't have to feel bad about that.
And as long as I'm here, the city planted two new trees in front of our yard to replace the two they had to cut down because of what I assume was Dutch Elm Disease. I'm sure I'll be dead by the time they grow back to the size the old ones were, but it's nice to have something there anyway. Now if only something could be done about the stumps of the old trees...
