Whee, wireless signal!
Me: *asks about why some species are said to have W and Z chromosomes*
T.A.: *explains that in birds females are WZ and males are... was it WW or ZZ?* But we don't need to worry about the bees.
Another student: What about the bees?
T.A.: *indistinct* *pauses a moment and gets it* *T.A. and class start laughing*
Okay, it sounds really stupid there, but it was kind of amusing anyway, in a calm sort of way.
The weather's really nice today. A perfectly invigorating temperature. :) (Although I've heard that the wind chill's not too great today, but I haven't been in the wind much.)
I was eating generic Grape Nuts for breakfast this morning, and on the back of the box was a panel that said "Know Your Herbs and Their Uses" or something like that. Now, I suppose Grape Nuts-type cereals could be pretty flexible in terms of how you prepare it (I think I saw something else on the box about using it as a salad topping), but really... Basil and thyme do not belong on what is fundamentaly a breakfast cereal box.
Feeling more on top of my schoolwork today, and as long as I keep things up this weekend I should be able to start planning in time with friends (or extra catering shifts?) starting next weekend. *crosses my fingers*
This room is too cold. Why has evereyone taken off their jackets?
