why I love fandom (and Doctor Who)

Fandom has a way of drawing us back in, even the ones of us that try to get away. We... I did that, I did that at, like, 20, you know? I was like "Aaah, I'm done with this otaku stuff." And later someone had the nerve to show me FY, and so I'm watching Fushigi Yuugi, and I'm like “Oooh, why did you do this?!”. It’s like Doctor Who, you know? I thought I was done with that, and then David Tennant had to come and mess that up for me, so. I’m like “Aaah, I don’t want to be called a Doctor Who person again! I just finally got rid of that.”

I think I love this guy.
Also, I’m definitely going to Detour this year. And maybe Anime Iowa, if I have the money. I’ve been avoiding them for waaaay too long.

Anyways, I still have some work to do, but the majority of my room cleaning is done, so I’m going to go to bed now.

[EDIT: I really love how frank this discussion of fansubbing is... I know it’s stuff I’ve talked about before, but this really reminds me very thoroughly of how much I want to start buying the series I love and more than $4 a disc.]
