The clubroom's been locked since around 11:30, so every time I left the room to get something from my room or to go to the bathroom I stuck a chair in between the doors so I wouldn't get locked. This time I forgot. But at least I only have an hour until they re-open it.
I watched episodes 1, 5-8 and 17-20 of Kodocha last night (episode 1 with someone else who was in the clubroom at the time), and I have to say I've really been enjoying the dub. Yeah, the acting and voices are occasionally a little off, and god forbid they teach the actors how to correctly approximate the Japanese names (apparently Sana's sister is "Ay-oh-noh" rather than "Ah-oh-noh"), or at the very least have everyone agree on one way to pronounce each character's name, even if that way is incorrect... But all-in-all I thought the English script was quite well written, and there are times when I actually want to applaud the VAs.
My notes that I wrote down are in my planner in the clubroom, so I can't remember everything I wanted to say here, but there are two particular points I can remember that I wanted to mention. One is there was this really awkward part where after Misako slaps Keiko, Babbit calls Misako a bitch. I was like "Huh? I can't really imagine Babbit viewing Misako's actions as bitch-like...". There was also one great line (out of many) by Hayama: "Cool it, pimp-boy.", or something like that. Said to Rei, of course.
Damn, I wish I had my planner with me.
Maybe I should write actually reviews of the Kodocha eps. to put up on my website...
I've also been wanting to write some Kodocha fanfiction. If only I had any writing skills...
