tired, but refreshed
Mar. 12th, 2006 09:11 amWell, yesterday Katie and I decided to go to the Lutheran church today, but last night I started getting in the mood to go to meeting, so I called Dad this morning to ask if and when he was going. Well, he called and said he was going today, and to the 11 o'clock meeting, and that he could pick us up at 10:30. So then I called Katie to propose this to her, but she said she really needs to sleep in, which I totally understand. So... I'm going to meeting with the 'rents today. Yay. :) Might also go to Jamba and/or breadsmith (maybe try something at the Jamba on Grand that we don't serve at the Coffman location, since I have a $10 gift card I can't use at Coffman, but I don't want to get the same thing I could get any other time... or maybe I'll just get a mug or chapstick or something...). I might also visit Nicole (and Dirk?) for a little bit before heading back to the U, if she gives me a call back.
I feel really good though. There really is something to taking a shower and fully getting dressed in the morning (and no, FlyLady, until I get myself a pair of shoes exclusively for wearing indoors, I won't be dressing to my shoes). I also have the window and door open, so I'm getting a nice (if a bit cold) breeze. I even called Oma and Opa, and got to talk to Steffen and Julian. Julian's so cute... :) I just wish he didn't speak so much better German than me - damn native speakers... *is very jealous* I kept throwing in tiny bits of Japanese on accident, but mainly along the lines of "ano..." and "ee to...", and no-one really cares if you say "um", "ee to" or... well, I don't know what you say in German. ^_^;
Oh, I also finished Peacemaker Kurogane last night. The ending felt like a season rather than series finale, but I suppose that's because in some way it is, as the manga it was based on has a sequel. I also felt like a lot of parts of the series were just... Random. I mean, not that they didn't play a role, but Sakamoto Ryoma? He kinda showed up two or three times, and then just kinda disappeared, having no real purpose besides being someone who reminded Tetsu and Tatsu of their father and who is one of the people already "infected" with Western culture. And being someone who sang really funny versions of the Star-Spangled Banner. ^_^;
I kinda wish, though, that they'd make a manga based on the Peacemaker Kurogane manga (the Peacemaker Kurogane anime is based on a manga called Shinsengumi Imon Peacemaker).
I should steal one of your icons,
eternalruth - I love this song (and PV ^_^).
