YEA! The main crisis is over. *debates over whether I have time to explain* Basically, I failed 3rd quarter English last year, and I'm trying to stay in English 12 IB so I can get my diploma. So... I tried the stubborness approach. Mrs. Haug said that if I completed 3rd quarter's journals by last Monday (the 8th) I could stay in her class. Well, I finished the paper... (And missed the BNL concert because of it - stupid Pat! *gives Patrick a rasberry*)

So, I sent her an e-mail asking her to give me two more days, and this was her reply:

Nastassja,

Tomorrow the second journal is due. If you can get me both journals for Native Son by tomorrow, you can rejoin us if you are honest with your dad about what is going on. Your paper is very well written! There are a few things that we would need to talk about, but it is a strong paper. I think you left your book here. I have it. If you are in school, come up and see me.

M Haug

Well, that last part was kinda irrelevant, but... Anyways, I finished the reading and decided to "take a nap". This nap lasted until my parent woke me up in the morning. I spent 1st hour writing the 2nd journal, and I got about half of the first journal done (4 of the 7 examples and the summary). Well, the 2nd journal won't count anyway 'cuz it's 0 points if it's late. Anyways, I turned in the journals before the 2nd period bell, so hopefully it'll count as "on time". Last time I turned in an assignment at the end of the day it was half-credit, though that was better than the 0 points I would have gotten the next day. Whoo! ^_^;

Pat's vaguely considering joining the military, probably the Air Force. I don't think I can stay with him if he does... First, I'm a not-particularly-patriotic pacifist. Seeing him in a uniform would be... *feels slightly sick imagining it* Secondly... if things got to that point, I really don't want to be married to a military man. I mean, I certainly wouldn't want to lose hime now, but I also don't want to become a widow. Not to mention, I don't want to have to move half-way across the globe every six months, though Pat tells me the Air Force is pretty stationary...

*feels butterflies*

Ikenaide yo.

Well, I should probably get moving. I have some homework to do, and I don't want to fall behind. Mrs. Haug said I need to be honest with my dad, and I want to have good grades when I tell him. *crosses fingers* I'm gonna wait 'til my b-day, though.

Signing off,
Nastassja
