School's still a giant clusterfuck, but I think I've decided on my fall schedule.

ACC 102, Managerial Accounting (3), online
CIS 200, Business Computer Systems* (3), online
MAT 160, Statistics (4), MW 2-3:50
MAT 129, Calculus/Analytic Geometry II (4), TTh 6-7:50

* "Management information systems, systems analysis and design techniques, data processing concepts, terminology, equipment, and applications. Hands-on experience with microcomputers including software packages (spreadsheets, database, and word processing) for data analysis and business presentations."

Gotta love how I'm more-or-less taking a class that I already took in Spring 2002 and 2003 but couldn't be bothered to pass. Although at least (?) I won't be able to do calc II in my sleep, since I find integrals to be much harder than derivatives if only because you can't just... do them. It actually requires a bit of inspiration (and not waiting until the last minute), not to mention practice. Taking so many math and math-related classes this semester is kind of nice, but at the same time it's rather bittersweet

I was having trouble deciding between calc II and finite math ("Sets, combinatorial analysis, theory of probability, linear programming, vectors, matrices, and Markov chains. Not recommended for mathematics/science transfer students."), partly because there's actually some material in finite math that I haven't covered before (looks like I covered most of it in algebra II, which I passed with an A), and because, for scheduling reasons, finite math would let me meet three groups of classmates whereas calc II would only let me meet two. However, in the end I decided that calc II would be a better fit for my "no taking classes dumbed-down for non-majors" self. Even if that's a stupid attitude and perhaps not fair in this case.

I'm also asking my manager to let me be considered to be unavailable on Saturdays from 1-5 so I can attend "an extra-curricular group" (UIUC's anime club). We're required to be able to work weekends, but I'm just hoping that between only asking for 10-15 hours a week and being available Friday evenings and all day Sundays that they'll be able to accommodate this. (I also said I'm willing to come in mornings or evenings on Saturday, but I hope I won't be asked to since I'd really like to be able to stick around for any Wok-like activities.)
