rabid1st's fanfics, Disheveled. I always feel a little awkard using this icon, since that kiss wasn't actually Rose. Still, the Hampster/Otter thing is cute.
So, this one comes from the Japanese live-action Hana Yori Dango. (I can't wait to buy the region 1 DVD of the movie. It's not nearly as good as the series, but I love the series so much I'm very happy to be able to support it.) I believe in all incarnations of the series, the character shown, Doumyouji Tsukasa is a little... Stupid. He's always using the wrong word, and I think he's not the best at reading kanji either. And he doesn't realize this at all. You get lots of scenes of him saying something stupid, whoever he's with correcting him incredulously, and him mocking them for their own stupidity (in his eyes). So yeah, I can totally see him challanging someone to Scrabble, sure that he'd whoop their ass, and then constantly putting down mispelled words or words that don't even exist. Of course, he'd still demand that he won.
BTW, did I mention I have a serious crush on MatsuJun? 'Cuz I totally do. ^_^ Of course, as with all my crushes, they don't tend to manifest themselves with still images. It's more about their facial and verbal mannerisms than anything.
I can't say for sure, but I think this is my favorite of my tea ceremony images. The atmosphere of the image is very earthy, and reminds me a lot of the sense of comfortable mortality I feel during my best ceremonies. It really can be a sort of meditation for me, listening to the water boiling softly, hearing the cars drive by outside Nolte (not part of the standard tea ceremony, I know)... And then I'm brought back to what's right in front of me. (Okay, just because it's meditation doesn't mean it's terribly focused meditation.) Of course, if my legs didn't fall asleep well, that's another story. Anyways, despite the photographic imperfection of that light blur, I feel that that almost contributes to the mood.
This is an image from Utada Hikaru's PV for Keep Tryin' (which is a great song when you're feeling beaten down). The video itself is super surreal. Not in a mindfuck way, but all the sets and props are designed to look completely unrealistic, made of cardboard and pastel colors. And there's lots of cosplay.

But yes, for the uninformed, Heero Yuy is, as a matter of fact, not toast.
Sometimes you just feel like running away from it all, you know? Those are the times I use this icon. I have to say, I'm curious where the image is from.
Alright, gonna get some food, then go up and work on applications until I fall asleep.
P.S. You guys need to check out Sailor Disney. Took me a while to figure out who Neptune is, but I still don't recognize Uranus.
