I have to say, I'm finding myself not entirely enchanted by Capital One. First, they keep my current balance up-to-date, but fail to update my available credit, meaning the money I paid them has essentially disappeared and is unusable. Second, they really make it hard to find information on their website, if it's there at all. You think I'd be able to look up things like my current terms (APR, cash advance line, interest calculation method, etc.) online, but I haven't found it yet. On the Washington Mutual website I even had a monthly update of my credit score! And then third, and this is a one-time thing so maybe it's a fluke, I keep trying to call customer service about why my available credit hasn't been increased, but I keep on either getting dropped before connecting, or if I do connect I get a message about all circuits being busy and the call ending on me. How is your customer service hold capacity that small? It makes me wonder if they're one of those companies that intentionally tries to mess up their customers. I dunno, maybe the first business day after Thanksgiving is always busy.

Unrelatedly, wow... The AAA (a Japanese band) website is way behind in updating their singles discography. By two singles, as a matter of fact.

Credit card companies have been reducing the available credit on a lot of customers due to the current "credit crisis" so unless you really want to complain, that's your explanation.

No, they haven't actually reduced my credit line - that wouldn't bother me. My issue is that my available credit is not equal to my credit line minus my current balance. In fact, it's off by $200, or 2/3 of my credit line.

When did you make your payment? Sometimes it takes a while to post?

I've heard horror stories about Capital One as well, such as having extremely high interest rates when you forget a payment and I think Consumer Reports says that they're pretty awful as well. I'd say don't go with Capital One.

We've had bad experiences as well. Don't remember what exactly, but I remember Dad being pissed.
